About Me

Madalyn Watson is a writer based in Costa Mesa, California. She most recently worked as a freelance entertainment news writer for Collider.

She previously served as a reporter for the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post, a weekly newspaper that serves the community of Gillespie County in Texas. Raised in Southern California, Watson graduated from Baylor University with a BA in journalism, a news-editorial concentration and a minor in history.

Before graduating, she worked as the editor-in-chief for The Baylor Lariat, an award winning collegiate newspaper. She has also previously been the arts & life editor, print managing editor, a staff writer and reporter at the same publication.

In addition, Watson worked as a Writing Intern for Study Breaks Magazine during the summers of 2020 and 2019. In 2018, she was also an assistant editor for the Phoenix Literary Magazine.

In her free time, Watson enjoys reading, hiking and yoga. At the end of a long day in the newsroom, she can be found crocheting, baking or listening to true crime podcasts while curled up with her cat, Penny.
